چکیده
The radiation budget in polar regions plays an important role global climate change study. This study investigates the performance of downward longwave (DLR) three satellite products regions, including GEWEX-SRB, ISCCP-FD, and CERES-SYN. RMSEs are 35.8, 40.5, 26.9 W/m2 at all sites for results Arctic much better than those Antarctic, 34.7 W/m2, 36.0 26.2 38.8 54.8 28.6 Antarctic. Both GEWEX-SRB CERES-SYN underestimate DLRs most sites, while ISCCP-FD overestimates sites. DLR can capture seasonal variation both Antarctic Arctic. Though has best that RMSE within 30 accuracy still cannot meet requirement research. improvement mainly depends on quality improving input atmospheric parameters, cloud detection over snow ice surface consideration spatial resolution heterogeneity.

Periodicity of Downward Longwave Radiation at an Equatorial Location
A good understanding of the diverse mechanisms in the atmosphere is required in modelling the climate. In this study, the diurnal and seasonal patterns of all-sky downward longwave radiation (DLR) at Ilorin (8o 32l N, 4o 34l E), Nigeria were investigated alongside relative humidity (RH) and temperature. The average diurnal pattern of DLR gives an arc that begins by increasing gradually with som...

[1] Several studies have suggested enhanced rates of warming in high-elevation regions since the latter half of the twentieth century. One of the potential reasons why enhanced rates of warming might occur at high elevations is the nonlinear relationship between downward longwave radiation (DLR) and specific humidity (q). Using ground-based observations at a high-elevation site in southwestern ...

[1] Surface solar radiation plays a crucial role in surface energy and water budgets, and it is also an important forcing for land hydrological models. متن کاملSatellite-based estimates of longwave radiation for agricultural applications
Geostationary satellites provide information that enables frequent, routine and cost-effective estimates of both downwelling longwave radiation and incident solar radiation for use by agricultural and other applications, at a resolution that cannot be practically matched by ground-based measurements. We develop a new parameterization for downwelling longwave radiation at the earth’s surface tha...
